About the event
By Oscar Wilde
Directed by Craig Lampert-Soto
A satire of Victorian social conventions through the story of Jack Worthing and Algernon Moncrieff, two men who create alter-egos named "Ernest" to escape their mundane lives and pursue romantic interests. Jack desires Algernon's cousin, Gwendolen Fairfax, while Algernon is drawn to Jack's ward, Cecily, leading to a series of comedic complications as they navigate their fabricated identities and the strict social gatekeeping of Lady Bracknell, ultimately revealing that the true importance lies not in one's name, but in the absurdity of societal expectations.
